China is becoming increasingly concerned over heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula following North Korea’s test-launch of two ballistic missiles.
Sources say the Chinese government,… the North’s only major ally,… believes the launches were an act of defiance considering their timing.
The missiles were fired when leaders of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan were in talks on denuclearizing North Korea on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit.
Beijing has yet to officially comment on the North’s latest provocation.
Seoul and Washington, however, have condemned the missile test as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
